The famous December bridge, date in which many of the Spaniards make a getaway, many are the ones who choose our beautiful city and its different attractions at this time of year.
As it is the eve of Christmas, Seville is already decorated for the occasion and has different activities for couples, groups and children.
Christmas illumination wil begins on December 7, with a total of 201 public spaces such as streets, roundabouts and avenues with thousands of lights, accentuating the avenue de la Constitución, the main artery of downtown Seville. Within the Christmas lighting, the city also has different light shows in emblematic places of the city. Previous years have happened mapping we have been able to witness audiovisual shows, children’s mapping, theater shows, Christmas parks with ice rinks influenced, carousel and Ferris wheel. Next Christmas is expected to be no less.
Visitors will also be able to contemplate the different Christmas markets, installed in Nervión, Plaza del Cabildo (in the avenue of the Constitution, opposite the cathedral), art market located in Triana, on the banks of the Guadalquivir and the famous and well-known Fair of the most important and significant nativity scene in Spain in the same avenue of the Constitution, in front of the Archive of the Indies and the metro stop center.
A must visit to enjoy the Christmas sweets of convents, made by a total of 17 traditional Sevillian convents, in which the sisters themselves make sweets of all types and can taste them during the first half of December in the Gothic Palace of the Royal Alcázares.
WHAT TO DO IN SEVILLA THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER
About tourism with child, we can visit the circuit of cribs of the city distributed in different parks and churches, brotherhoods, shopping centers and entities. A route starting from the town hall, allows us to visit the most popular: We will start with the crib of the “arquillo” of the Town Hall, just in front of the Caja Sol in the Plaza de San Francisco, which will be decorated with attractions for the little ones. This stop is obligatory in Sierrapes Street, through the crib of the Mercantile Circle, Rociero crib in the El Salvador Church, Neapolitan crib of the Hospital de la Caridad and finally the crib located in Santo Ángel Church in Rioja Street.
We can also visit the different exhibitions arising from the “Murillo Year” in the Museum of Fine Arts, in the Hospital de Los Venerables, Seville City Council, Cathedral and Hospital de la Caridad among others.
