The opera Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner performed at Teatro Maestranza in Seville dates October 27, 1 and 5 November.
Tannhäuser is a great romantic opera in three acts based on a German medieval legend.
It tells us how the knight and troubadour Tannhäuser, former lover of the goddess Venus, goes to a singing contest at Castle Watburg to get the hand of his beloved Elisabeth.
Peter Seiffert and Ricarda Merbech, two of the great Wagnerian voices, lead the cast along with Alexandra Petersamer, Martin Gatner, Attila Jun, Vicente Ombuena, Damian del Castillo, Jose Manuel Montero and David Lagares.
