The city of Seville occupies the number 1 position in the ranking of Spanish cities and number 5 position in the list of the 15 best European destinations.
Seville is celebrating an exceptional year 2018. This year marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of Sevillian painter Esteban Murillo and the city has been filled with events to celebrate it, it has also been chosen as the best global destination for 2018 according to the prestigious specialized guide Lonely Planet and the newspaper ‘The New York Times’ placed it in position 19 as an essential destination. In turn, Plaza de España has been awarded by the Travelers’ Choice for Sites of Tourist Interest in 2018 as the second best place of interest in the world and the first at European and national level.
If we add to all this the 5th position in the list of the 15 best European destinations granted by the recognized Travel + Leisure magazine or the 5th position in the list of the best trips for 2018 of the National Geographic magazine, we can say without doubt that Seville is one of the reference destinations for visitors from around the world and the best destination in the MICE segment of Spain according to the Iberian Association of Travel Managers.
The year 2019 does not look bad for the city either. Seville will host several international professional summits in the tourism sector such as the World Travel and Tourism Council Summit or the annual congress of the Association of British Travel Agencies (ABTA) as well as other events of great importance. It has also been chosen European space capital. And it will host the next Goya Spanish Cinema Awards.
It is therefore that Seville is in one of the best times for the tourism sector and this recognition by Travel + Leisure magazine only confirms it.
