Tuesday 8 December 2015, with onomastics of the immaculate conception is celebrated the Tuna’s Night in Seville.
Dozens of University music groups gather around to the monument of the Immaculate Conception, located in the Plaza del Triunfo, to sing to the Virgin. Sevilla will fill with guys on December 7 and around at midnight will be when they start to pass in procession ahead of the monument.
The tradition of the Tuna’s Night in Seville
The tradition has its beginnings in 1952 when the Tuna musical group of industrial technicians University dedicated, for first time, their songs to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, thus gaining a tradition from the 1920s that had been lost.
By this fact, the Tuna of industrial technicians was decorated with white sash by the cardinal Segura and each year has the privilege of being the first to sing to the Virgin. The rest of Tunas musical groups are rotating in order of procession every year.
Seville at night has a romantic atmosphere with the sounds of tambourines, guitars, and romantic songs.
Do not miss it!
