Atalaya Company performs “Marat-Sade” in Lope de Vega Theatre. The play was written in 1964 by Peter Weiss and the whole title reads “The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat As Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of Monsieur de Sade”, one of the most important pieces of drama of the 20th century.
It is a musical representation within the play itself that presents different attitudes towards the French Revolution concerning Jean-Paul Marat’s murder. The musical is directed by Marquis de Sade and some other famous people star in the play.
