Leiva turns ‘Monster’ at CAAC Sevilla 2017
Leiva, was born in Madrid in 1980 and since then has always lived in the Alameda de Osuna neighborhood, northwest of Madrid. Her first band was called Malahierba and with it she endured from the fourteen years until her majority. The idea of imbuing himself with rock in a more serious way, and that was no longer an excuse of leisure, leads Leiva to join two other neighbors of the same neighborhood, Ruben Pozo and Tuli, and make a group of versions of Leño. It was 1999 and Pereza was born.
The record history of Pereza begins in 2001 with a first album, Pereza, which would follow the following year, already reconverted in duet, Something to sing, where Leiva begins to give edge to his knife composer. The jump of springboard of Pereza would be produced with Animals (05) and the pelotazo in lists that supposed compositions of Leiva like “Princesses” and “Everything”, the work, that surpassed more than the Gold Disc. Those who continue to surf on the crest of the wave.
In December 2010 Pereza fired his plane tour with a blowout at the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid. After a few months of rest, Leiva and Ruben made public the news that their next step would be a solo album each.
His first record garnered unparalleled reviews from the trade press, started in the top-3 and remained on the list of 50 best-selling in 2012 according to Promusicae. The result of his second album was exciting, overwhelming: Gunpowder went straight to No. 1 in sales thanks to its elegant and effective sound, but also to a personal and distinctive rock.
Monsters, the third album since he began his solo career, Leiva has established itself as an indispensable value in the Spanish rock scene. After this public and professional recognition that has been gained step by step, many years of blind faith and constant work, compositional spark, passion for music, and a magic that only the great ones possess, are hidden.
Leiva is the artist who has completed a little more than a year ago a concert tour in which hung the poster there are no tickets in each and every one of the cities. And now it’s finally back with the album “Monsters” and the song with which it all started, “Sincericide” and “World War”.
And is that, without doubt, Leiva, is in the best moment of his career, with collaborations in recent years with artists such as Joaquin Sabina, Andrés Calamaro, Fito Páez, Dani Martín …
The concert of Leiva will be held in Seville, the Andalusian capital that exudes joy and bustle in each of the streets and squares of its historic center, which houses an interesting set of buildings declared World Heritage and neighborhoods with popular flavor, such as that of Triana Or La Macarena. Do not forget to buy your tickets…
