Seville celebrates Christmas with cultural programming and entertainment since 4 December 2015 the 6 of January 2016. It will count with the participation of 40 groups and associations and more than 130 artists.
As every year, the city makes a proposal of activities to celebrate the holiday season. This year, activities will focus not only on the historical centre of the city but will extend to other districts.
Programming 2015/2016
Alumbra program
The traditional Christmas lighting this year expands to other areas of the city. The Christmas lights will be a: La Oliva, El Parque Amate, El Carmen, Miraflores, San Jerónimo and San Julian. As a pioneering initiative, this year the Christmas lighting of the neighborhoods will be designed by local artists and will be made with the participation of neighbors.
Musical activities
Musical groups will be present at different points of the city; in Christmas markets, in trucks through neighborhoods, in ships that sail along the Guadalquivir or the Skateparks in the city.
Circuses and theatres
Unreal performes take spaces such as the Royal Alcázar of Seville or the castle of São Jorge and even in public transportation.
Media circus
The Alameda de Hercules will be installed together with San Telmo and circular projection screen and mushrooms of the incarnation will have an audiovisual show based on the opera leitmoviv.
Snow in Seville
Ice rinks will be installed in the Alameda de Hercules, Plaza de San Francisco and the Prado de San Sebastián. There will also be a French carousel of two plants with artificial snow in the Plaza de San Francisco.
